Here out somewhere in the pacific we take pork ribs and marinate them with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, leeks (bye-bye pork smell) and sometimes a jelly, jam or marmalade. My latest excursion was yuzu marmalade — homemade.

Not grilled, mot “BBQ’d” but pan fried and then simmered in the marinade and then reduced. Yo, wow.
Same idea, perhaps.
